Attitudes Toward Whether Social Media Companies' AI Can Find False Information as Effectively as Humans According to US Adults, Nov 2021 (% of respondents)

Note

Respondents were asked, "When it comes to finding false information on their sites, do you think computer programs used by social media companies do..."

Methodology

Data is from the March 2022 Pew Research Center report titled "AI and Human Enhancement: Americans' Openness Is Tempered by a Range of Concerns." 10,260 US adults ages 18+ from the American Trends Panel (ATP) were surveyed online during November 1-7, 2021. The American Trends Panel is a nationally representative panel of randomly selected US adults. Panelists who do not have internet access at home are provided with a tablet and wireless internet connection. Interviews are conducted in both English and Spanish. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/-1.6 percentage points.
