Respondents were asked, "Aside from any technical / technological concerns you may have using virtual care, what current barriers, if any, are inhibiting use and / or further integration of virtual care in your practice?"

Methodology

Data is from the September 2021 Amwell "2021 Survey of Health Plans, Hospitals and Health Systems, and Clinicians" conducted by HIMSS Analytics. 100 US clinicians and support staff, who are actively seeing patients and providing care in a variety of specialties, were surveyed during July 2021. Practice settings covered every region in the US and ranged in size from solo and private practices to large health systems and academic medical centers. The respondents' clinical roles were medical doctors (7%), MD/DO (52%), nurse practitioners (8%), and physician's assistant (30%). 47% of the respondents were from primary practice area and 53% was from specialty care.
