US Adults Who Support Enabling Healthcare Providers to Share Patient Health Record, July 2020 (% of respondents)
Note
Respondents were asked, "Would you support or oppose enabling different health care providers to share patient health record information between their electronic health records systems when they are caring for the same patient? Existing federal laws relating to privacy such as the Health Insurance ... Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), would apply."
Methodology
Data is from the Pew Charitable Trusts, "Pew HIT National Survey" conducted by Public Opinion Strategies and Hart Research Associates. 1,213 US adults ages 18+ were surveyed online and via telephone during June 1-July 3, 2020. The margin of error is +/- 3.49 percentage points. The survey was conducted using NORC at the University of Chicago's AmeriSpeak panel, a nationally representative, probability-based panel of the US household population.
