Methodology

Data is from the June 2020 Foursquare report titled "Location Data in a Marketing Lifecycle" conducted by Advertiser Perceptions. 150 US marketing decision-makers were surveyed online during March 4-18, 2020. To qualify for the survey, respondents had to be managers or higher at companies with at least $5 million in annual digital ad spend, representing a key market category such as retail, travel, automotive, etc. Respondents also had to be digital decision-makers (advertising, customer insights, measurement/attribution or programmatic) who are involved in location-based data. In addition, in-depth interviews with 5 US marketing decision-makers were conducted via telephone. Foursquare is a location data and technology platform.
