US consumers were asked about their shopping behaviors in-store vs. online. They were asked how often they add additional items to their shopping cart beyond what they planned to buy. The chart breaks out responses by males and females.

Methodology

Data is from the March 2019 First Insight report titled "The State of Consumer Spending: In-Store Impulse Shopping Stands the Test of Time." 1,000 US internet users ages 18+ were surveyed online during February 2019.
