Top 5 Types of Personal Info that Internet Users in Western Europe* and the US Regret Sharing Digitally, Jan 2018 (% of respondents)

Description

Internet users in France, Germany and the UK and US were asked about the type of personal information they've regret sharing online. The responses are broken out by the type of information including social or national security number, credit card details, phone number and health records.

Note

Respondents were asked, "You said that you have previously shared the following types of personal information online. Which of these do you wish you had not shared online?"

Methodology

Data is from the March 2018 ForgeRock report titled "Consumer Trust, Consent and Knowledge in the Age of Digital Identity" conducted by ComRes. 8,434 internet users in France, Germany, the UK and the US were surveyed online during January 3-12, 2018. Data was weighted to be representative of all adults from each country by age, gender and region. ComRes, a research consultancy specializing in corporate reputation, public policy and communications, is a member of the British Polling Council and abides by its rules. ForgeRock is a digital identity management service provider.
