Methodology

Data is from the March 2017 CMO Council report titled "Empowering the Data-Driven Customer Strategy: Addressing Customer Engagement From the Foundation Up" in partnership with RedPoint Global. 263 marketers worldwide from various industries were surveyed during Q1 2017. Respondents identified their business as B2B (23%), B2C (29%) or both (48%). Respondents' companies had annual revenues of less than $50 million (10%), $51-$100 million (6%), $101-$250 million (8%), $251-$500 million (11%), $501-$750 million (13%), $751 million-$1 billion (11%), $1.1-$5 billion (21%) and $5 billion+ (19%). Respondents were located in Africa (5%), Asia-Pacific (22%), Europe (27%), the Middle East (3%), North America (40%) and South America (2%). RedPoint Global is a marketing technology company.
