Data is from the September 2016 Digiday report titled "Publishers, Monetization and Technology: State of the Industry 2016" in partnership with the Rocket Fuel Institute. 208 publishers mostly from the US were surveyed during July 25-August 15, 2016. Focused interviews were also conducted on issues related to survey results. Rocket Fuel is a programmatic marketing company.
