Methodology

Data is from the January 2023 Cisco report titled "2023 Data Privacy Benchmark Study: Privacy's Growing Importance and Impact." More than 4,700 IT security professionals at organizations with at least 50 employees were surveyed worldwide during Summer 2022. Respondents were based in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, the UK, the US, and Vietnam. Respondents were anonymous to the researchers, and were not informed who was conducting the survey. Privacy-specific questions were directed to the more than 3,100 respondents who indicated they are familiar with the data privacy program at their organization.
