Product Selection Features From Retailers that Are Most Important to US Shoppers, May 2022 (% of respondents who called each feature "extremely important")

Methodology

Insider Intelligence surveyed 1,210 customers in the US between May 9 and May 18, 2022, to gauge consumers’ perceptions on the importance of 15 specific sustainability features, and their ratings on the top 10 retailers' sustainability practices. Respondents to the online survey were consumers who have purchased from the top 10 retailers including Albertsons, Amazon, Costco Wholesale, CVS, Kroger, Lowe's, Target, The Home Depot, Walgreens, and Walmart in the past 12 months. The respondents were selected to align with the US population on the criteria of age (among ages 18–76), gender, and household income. The survey was fielded by a third-party sample provider. Data has a margin of error of +/-2.8 percentage points at the 95% confidence interval.
