Respondents were asked 4 questions on a scale of -1 to 1 where -1="got a lot worse," 0="stayed the same," and 1="got a lot better." Question 1: How has the financial situation of your household changed over the last 12 months? Question 2: How do you expect the financial position of your household to ... change over the next 12 months? Question 3: How do you think the general economic situation in this country has changed over the last 12 months? Question 4: How do you expect the general economic situation in this country to develop over the next 12 months? Respondents were asked one question on a scale of -1 to 1 where -1="no, it is the wrong time" and 1="yes, now is the right time."
Methodology
Data is from a March 2022 GfK study titled "UK Consumer Confidence Barometer" as cited in press release. 2,000 UK adults ages 16+ were surveyed during March 1-14, 2022. Quota was applied on age, gender, region, and social class to ensure the final sample is representative of the UK population. The data has an estimated margin of error of +/-2 percentage points.
