Methodology

Data is from the May 2021 Deloitte "Deloitte Summer Travel Survey, 2021" as cited in company blog. 2,004 US consumers were surveyed during April 17-24, 2021. Respondents were ages 18+ who plan to take a trip that includes a flight and/or stay in paid lodging between Memorial Day and the end of September. Respondents were ages 18-34 (23%), 35-54 (42%), or 55+ (36%) with a household income of less than $50,000 (26%), $50,000 to $100,000 (41%), or over $100,000 (33%) located in the south (40%), midwest (22%), west (19%), or northeast (18%).
