Are US Smartphone Users Willing to Share Personal Data with Companies if the Benefits of Doing So Are Made Clear? (% of respondents, April 2019)

Description

A survey asked US smartphone users whether they would be more comfortable allowing companies to access their personal data if the link between the benefits and the data shared were made clear.

Note

Data was provided to eMarketer by Factual.

Methodology

Data is from the August 2019 Factual report titled "Consumers & Data Privacy Perceptions" conducted by the University of Southern California (USC). 1,002 US smartphone owners ages 18-65 were surveyed online during March 26-April 11, 2019. All respondents use digital services and/or platforms on mobile devices at least once per week. The survey was hosted by Quantcast. Tests of significance were conducted at the 0.5 level.
