Description

In 2017, according to 51% of respondents, the main reason they blocked ads while using the internet was because they felt that too many ads are annoying or irrelevant. 50% believe there are too many ads, while 47% believe that ads are too intrusive.

Methodology

Data is from the Q3 2017 GlobalWebIndex survey released February 12, 2018 as cited in company blog. GlobalWebIndex interviewed 39,438 ad blocking users ages 16-64 across 40 countries via desktop, laptop, mobile or tablet. At least 3,000 unique respondents are surveyed over a 12-month period from each country.
