Additional Note: Traditional pay TV services include cable, satellite, telco and fiber operators, multiple system operators (MSOs), multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs), and major TV broadcast and cable networks. Cord-cutters are individuals who no longer have access to traditional pay TV services. Cord-nevers are individuals who have never had access to traditional pay TV services. eMarketer benchmarks its Canada Pay TV figures against CRTC (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission) data from 2015 onward. The last full year measured was 2022.
Methodology: Estimates are based on the analysis of survey and traffic data from research firms and regulatory agencies, historical trends, reported subscriber numbers from major pay TV providers and country-specific demographic and socioeconomic factors.
