DeepIntent connects pharma workflows with agentic AI

The news: DeepIntent is launching an agentic AI interface for pharma campaign planning and execution called Cora. The agents plan audience strategy, campaign structure, and execution across channels.

Why it matters: Cora is designed to put AI closer to marketing decisions about whom to target, where to spend, and when to adjust campaigns.

Campaign precision will matter more for therapies aimed at small patient populations. More than 100 medications developed with AI are in early phase 1 and 2 stages of FDA clinical trials, with many targeting conditions affecting fewer than 20,000 people worldwide, DeepIntent told Adweek. If approved, those drugs would give marketers smaller groups of eligible patients and healthcare providers to reach.

DeepIntent is part of a broader push to bring agents into marketing workflows. Amazon offers agents for campaign planning and creative development, while Jasper has built agents for content and SEO. Within pharma marketing, Doceree launched similar agentic media buying and planning technology in July, while OptimizeRx is applying agentic AI to healthcare provider audience building and point-of-care targeting.

Implications for pharma marketers: For therapies targeting small patient populations, value may come from identifying eligible patients and physician prescribers, and adjusting media spending in response to shifts by competitors or campaign performance.

DeepIntent reports that Cora cut planning time by 50% in beta testing—but speed alone does not demonstrate better campaign performance. Adoption will depend more on evidence of higher-quality audiences, efficient spending, and incremental gains in prescriptions or patient starts. Evidence that agents can improve targeting while protecting health data privacy, with clear points for human review, will also matter in pharma’s regulated environment.
