Email Fail: Do companies need to step up their customer service game? A new report from SuperOffice found that more than six in 10 companies don't respond to customer service emails. Moreover, 90% don't acknowledge that such an email was received. SuperOffice selected 1,000 small and large-sized companies from around the world and sent them test emails.

Video Ad Spending Spikes: Juniper Research estimates global ad spending on free video-on-demand (VOD) services like YouTube and Facebook will reach $37 billion by 2022, up from $16 billion in 2017. The firm projects there will be 4.5 billion users of free VOD services globally by 2022. However, Juniper Research expects market leader YouTube will increasingly face competition from video on social media platforms.

Digital Grocery's Inroads: According to new research from Food Marketing Institute and Nielsen, 70% of US consumers will be buying groceries online within five to seven years. The study found grocery retailers certainly need to focus on data analytics to help unlock the emerging market, noting that merging the digital and physical retail realms will help to drive an omnichannel experience.
