The news:Amid President Donald Trump’s tariffs on imported goods, Apple committed to spending more than $500 billion over the next four years in areas such as chip manufacturing and AI server production.
The company will hire 20,000 new workers for the initiative, the bulk of whom will be focused on R&D, AI, machine learning, and silicon engineering.
The planned expansions will be in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.
