US Adults Who Support Proposals for the Federal Government to Break Up Big Tech Companies, by Demographic, Jan 2021 (% of respondents in each group)

Note

Respondents were asked: "Some lawmakers in Congress have been calling on the the federal government to do more to try to break up Big Tech monopolies and promote market competition. This may mean some companies would have to sell off competitors that they purchased to stifle competition. For ... example, Facebook might be broken up so that Instagram would again become its own, independent company. Other companies like Amazon might not be able to serve as both a marketplace for products and a seller in that marketplace. Would you support or oppose this proposal?"More
