US Adults' Attitude Toward Telemedicine* vs. In-Person Appointments for Receiving Healthcare from a Primary Care Physician Post-Coronavirus Pandemic, Sep 2020 (% of respondents)

Note

Respondents were asked, "After the COVID-19 pandemic ends and you think about receiving ongoing care from a primary care physician, would you prefer appointments be primarily conducted virtually via a smartphone or computer, rather than in-person, assuming the quality and costs are comparable?"

Methodology

Data is from the October 2020 UnitedHealthcare "2020 UnitedHealthcare Consumer Sentiment Survey." 1,004 US adults ages 18+ were surveyed online during September 11-13, 2020. 31% of the respondents have employer-sponsored insurance, 43% have Medicare/Medicaid/Medi-Cal, 18% have insurance purchased through an exchange, 3% have insurance through parent's plan, and 3% have other type of insurance. 11% of the respondents do not have any insurance. The margin of error was +/-3 percentage points at the 95% confidence level.
