Women are more likely to skip or delay medical care than men

The trend: Half of US women skipped or delayed medical care in the past year, according to a March 2024 survey of over 2,000 US consumers conducted by the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions. That’s compared with 37% of men who have skipped or delayed care.

3 factors driving women to skip care more frequently than men:

1. Affordability. 21% of women (vs 16% of men) decided not to see a doctor because the cost was too high.
