User Growth: In its Q4 earnings, Snap Inc. said it added 8.9 million daily active users (DAUs) to reach a total of 187 million—18% year-over-year growth. The company also reported revenues of $285.7 million, up 72% vs. Q4 2016.
Social Influence: More than half of millennials surveyed by life insurance company Allianz said they had spent money they didn't initially intend to because of something they saw on social media. What's more, nearly nine in 10 respondents felt social media "creates more of a tendency to compare one's wealth or lifestyle with others."
China's App Market: New data from App Annie reveals that in Q4 2017, app users in China spent more than 200 billion hours in-app. Interestingly, while mobile gaming is big in the country, app users there are spending more than 90% of their app time outside of games.
