The Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand will all grow ecommerce spending by at least 18.0%. Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines will actually accelerate from 2021 to 2022, an extraordinarily rare feat this year. Only tiny Singapore will mirror global trends, decelerating dramatically.

Of the 2.13 billion social network users in Asia-Pacific, 320.2 million will come from the six-country cohort that we identify as Southeast Asia—Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Singapore. In our inaugural forecast for this subregion, these countries will collectively increase their social network user base by 3.3% this year.
