According to an April 2020 poll from the Ryerson University Social Media Lab, LinkedIn trails only two other social networks, Facebook and Instagram, in the number of account holders in Canada. Of the adult internet users in Canada surveyed, 44% said they had a LinkedIn account, compared with 83% for Facebook and 51% for Instagram.

But countries like the US and Canada have surged toward digital in recent years. In 2018, less than half of US ad spending went to digital, but that figure will reach 66.9% this year. In Canada, the pattern is similar. Both markets are poised to climb the rankings. By 2025, more than three-quarters of US ad dollars will go toward digital. In China, the figure will be just past 85% at that point.

Snapchat ended Q4 2020 with 92 million DAUs in North America, which Snap defines as the US, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America. This was up by 2 million from Q3 2020 and by 6 million from Q4 2019. (Snap doesn’t publicly report MAUs.).

Reddit. This year, reddit’s US net ad revenues will rise by 19.2% to $141.8 million. We had previously expected $130.3 million, which would have been 9.5% growth. Since the pandemic, reddit has added new brand safety features and also brought on a new head of ad sales, formerly of Pinterest. It is also making moves outside the US, opening its first international ad sales office in the UK in September.
