The age profile of tablet users goes some way to account for this: Many older internet users find the larger screen more convenient and comfortable, especially for purchases. In Germany, the device pattern for mobile buying is rather different.
This is no surprise, given the amount of social networking that takes place on mobile. It’s also relevant that GlobalWebIndex includes YouTube in its list of social media platforms; that likely increases penetration and time spent with the medium.
