Short-form video users in China continued to show strong growth. We forecast that the number of Douyin users grew 27.8% in 2019 to reach 442.6 million.

There's no word yet on whether the feature will be brought to other markets, but it's likely it will if it takes off in Brazil. The launch of Reels comes exactly one year after Facebook introduced Lasso, another TikTok-esque app.
