Both devices were more widespread among males than females, and among respondents ages 25 to 34. More than 25% of those in higher-income homes owned a smartwatch, as well.

Smart wristbands also benefited from this trend, but uptake was lower than for smartwatches, at 13.5% this year. Penetration of smart home products also rose, from 8.7% last year to 11.9% in H1 2021.
