In December, Twitter announced that it was acquiring social app Squad, which allows users to share their screens and simultaneously video chat. As part of the deal, Twitter shut down Squad one day after the acquisition. In a related move, Twitter also said it is sunsetting livestreaming app Periscope, which it acquired in 2015.
