For online learning platform Thinkific, internal employees use LinkedIn Live as well as the company’s Page to showcase the courses available. Thinkific’s social media and community manager Rob Balasabas was first approved for live streaming on his personal profile and gained immediate traction.
For facial recognition alone, an analysis of patents granted by the US Patent and Trademark Office by online learning platform Packt found that IBM, Samsung, Google and Microsoft were granted dozens of approvals in the first eight months of 2018. Other prolific recipients included Nuance Communications, Amazon, Apple and Intel. These patents may provide clues about future ambitions.
Online learning platform Skillshare is already looking at podcasts as a means of leveraging influencer power. According to Kyle Jansen, senior director of growth marketing, host-read ads that appear in podcasts where the host is seen as an influencer in the community tend to be the most effective placements for the company today.
