Retail to Drive UK Digital Ad Spend Through 2018

London, UK (30 August 2017) — The UK’s largest industry sector for digital ad spending—retail—will drive the country’s overall digital ad spending gains through 2018, according to eMarketer’s first ever forecast of cross-industry UK ad spend. But retailers won’t be alone in upping digital investment.

Among the five industries in the UK tracked by eMarketer—automotive, consumer packaged goods (CPG) and consumer products, financial services, retail and travel—retail will continue to lead in share of overall digital ad spend through 2018, aided by the largest spending gains among industries both this year and next.

Facebook Losing Its Appeal Among Teens & Tweens

Usage among 12-17-year-olds will decline for first time; Snapchat beats rivals in key age groups

New York, NY (August 22, 2017) — In its latest forecast on US internet and mobile usage, eMarketer has reduced its usage estimates for Facebook users under 25.  Yet for the same age groups, eMarketer has kept unchanged or adjusted higher its estimates for Snapchat and Instagram, suggesting younger social network users are turning away from Facebook in favor of other platforms.

India’s Digital Travel Sales Will Top $22.5 Billion This Year

London, UK (2 August 2017) — Digital travel sales in India will total $22.52 billion in 2017, up 33.0% over the previous year, according to eMarketer’s latest forecast on worldwide digital travel sales.

The effect of last year’s demonetization effort—which led to a dramatic drop in India’s retail ecommerce sector—has helped to drive digital travel sales in the country, and as a result has led eMarketer to increase its estimates since the previous forecast.
