Apple's New Deal: Apple will acquire digital magazine service Texture, which lets users access over 200 magazines for roughly $10 a month. "The acquisition comes as Apple looks to beef up its services business, which includes its music streaming service and its mobile payments service," The Wall Street Journal reports.

The Update Effect: Data from Sensor Tower, analyzing Snapchat reviews and downloads after an update, found that the social messaging platform's latest redesign had the highest number of negative reviews compared with its previous updates. Indeed, within 10 days following the redesign update last month, 88% of reviews in the US were negative. By comparison, the company received fewer unfavorable reviews (47%) when it launched Chat 2.0 in 2016.

Robotics Spending: Spending on robotics in Asia-Pacific—excluding Japan—is expected to reach $133.2 billion in 2021.
