Music Streaming: For the first time, revenues from music streaming services have eclipsed physical sales and digital downloads, according to a report by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). Now that streaming platforms like Spotify and Pandora have grown rapidly, their next task will be in showing profitability.
Social Beats Price Comparison Sites: When it comes to the research stage in the path to purchase, generational differences abound. According to GlobalWebIndex, Gen Zers are far more likely to use social media (47%) than price comparison sites (19%), while the reverse is true for boomers, but not to an extreme degree (33% favored price comparison sites and 26% social media). Both millennials (45%) and Gen Xers (36%) used social media more for product research.
Checking Finances: A new study from Taboola, which looked at which hours of the day had the highest click through rates for finance content worldwide, found that many countries saw the highest engagement during work hours. Engagement was low between the hours of 3am and 4am.
