Methodology

Data is from a March 2017 Market Track survey as cited in company blog. 1,244 US primary household shoppers ages 18+ were surveyed online from February 1-7, 2017. The respondents were equally split across all genders and age groups. Respondents identified their household income as less than $25,000 (29%), $25,000-$50,000 (32%), $50,000-$100,000 (28%) and more than $100,000 (10%). Respondents lived in urban areas (34%), suburban areas (43%) and rural areas (23%). Respondents were employed (56%) and unemployed (44%).
