One of Instagram’s greatest assets is its connection to owner Facebook, but the similarities between the two advertising platforms are also a source of frustration. Mike Lee, director of online advertising at personalized shopping site JustFab, spoke to eMarketer’s Maria Minsker about why companies are asking for more Instagram-specific advertising tools.
eMarketer: How does Instagram advertising compare to Facebook advertising?
Mike Lee: It’s on par with Facebook. The big difference is that inventory is not as high as we want it to be. It offers only about 20% of Facebook’s inventory. Still, the performance is on par, and sometimes even better.
