Co-Founder and COO, HealthTap
Now that Facebook Messenger is open to businesses, there are a number of ways that brands are taking advantage of the new engagement channel. On-demand health consultation company HealthTap, for example, is leveraging Messenger as an education and content distribution resource for users. Steijn Pelle, HealthTap’s co-founder and COO, spoke with eMarketer’s Maria Minsker about Messenger’s potential as well as its limitations.
eMarketer: What is the business opportunity for HealthTap on Facebook Messenger?
Steijn Pelle: Our mission is to inform and educate people, especially in Third World countries. Through Messenger, we are increasing engagement with HealthTap. Rather than having to go on our website and search [through existing content] to find an answer, users can ask our Facebook Messenger bot and immediately get an answer.
