    Data is from the February 2017 HSBC Global Research report titled "UK: Anatomy of the Consumer" conducted by Toluna. 2,000 UK consumers were surveyed in February 2017. Respondents were female (51%) and male (49%). Respondents identified their age as 18-24 (11%), 25-34 (17%), 35-44 (16%), 45-54 (18%), 55-64 (15%) and 65+ (23%). Respondents identified their annual salary before tax as less than £9,999 (16.5%), £10,000-£15,999 (17.0%), £16,000-£19,999 (10.7%), £20,000-£25,999 (13.0%), £26,000-£29,999 (8.3%), £30,000-£35,999 (7.9%), £36,000-£39,999 (3.8%), £40,000-£45,999 (3.4%), £46,000-£49,999 (2.7%), £50,000-£55,999 (1.9%), £56,000-£60,999 (1.0%), £60,000-£65,999 (1.1%), £66,000-£69,999 (0.6%), £70,000+ (2.7%) and prefer not to say (9.8%).
