Smart watch uptake and interest are on the rise in the US. According to Parks Associates, adoption of those devices among US broadband households reached a new high of 14% in Q2 2017. And the proportion of consumers it surveyed who said they were "very likely" to purchase one rose to 9%, up from 3% in Q1 2016.
Many small businesses in the UK have chosen to leave themselves unprotected from cybersecurity threats, according to a September 2017 study conducted by YouGov and cybersecurity firm Duo Security. The survey of more than 1,000 senior decision-makers at companies in the UK with 50 or fewer employees found that nearly four in 10 (38%) spent nothing to protect their businesses from cybersecurity threats. That's due in part to lack of concern: 45% respondents said they did not consider themselves to be targets for hackers.
Growth in Hispanic-owned businesses in the US was more than double the country's overall new business growth rate between 2012 and 2017, according to statistics from Geoscape and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The number of Hispanic-owned businesses ballooned by 31.6% during the period, compared with a 13.8% gain for the US as a whole.
Singapore Goes Mobile:
Mcommerce seems to have taken over Singapore. iPrice reports that 60% of online shoppers in the country prefer to do so on a mobile device, while just 34% favored a desktop. iPrice ventured a guess that consumers preferred to use mobile devices to browse, but headed back to desktops to complete their purchases.
