Social Shares, Unique Visits Are Important KPIs for Blog Content

Search engine optimization (SEO) professionals consider social shares and unique visits the most important key performance indicators (KPIs) for a piece of blog content, according to a December 2015 survey.

According to BrightLocal, 24% of SEO professionals in North American and the UK said that social shares were the most important KPIs for a piece of blog content. Unique visits were almost as highly regarded, with 23% of respondents saying they were important.
Engagement with call to action and backlinks were other key KPIs for a piece of content, according to SEO publishers.

Naturally social shares are a good indicator for blog content. 1013161 Bloggers themselves lean on social media marketing to drive traffic to their content.
When it comes to driving traffic to their posts, 93.2% of US bloggers rely on social media marketing, according to August 2015 research from Orbit Media Studios. In addition, over half of respondents use search engine optimization (SEO) and almost 42.6% use email marketing. Only 8.7% use paid services, such as native advertising or a pay-per-click (PPC) ad channel.
