Many digital retailers in Argentina offer their customers multiple ways to make digital purchases, according to a survey by Cámara Argentina de Comercio Electrónico (CACE). In fact, 70% of digital retailers surveyed say they offer payment installments.
Some 83% of digital buyers in Argentina say financing influences whether or not they’ll purchase digitally, so it makes sense that digital retailers would try to facilitate many ways to make purchases.
What’s more, those who do offer purchasing via installment are often flexible on how many payments they’ll allow. More than 60% of digital retailers offer up to 12 payment installments, while a quarter of those surveyed say they will offer two to six payment installments. Additionally, 10% are willing to offer between 13 and 18 installments.
Reaching out to consumers makes sense for digital retailers. CACE predicts that ecommerce sales in Argentina will amount to 112.3 billion Argentinean pesos ($7.84 billion) in 2016.
That’s a 64% growth increase from 2015, a figure strong enough to ensure digital retailers that making digital purchases easy is worth their while.
And beyond payment installments, shoppers in Argentina prefer credit—80% of those surveyed say their customers pay via credit card. Only 17% pay cash upon delivery or when picking up their purchase.
Shoppers in Argentina are certainly eager to make ecommerce purchases in 2016, just as long as digital retailers can facilitate their buying power.
