Viewability Improves, Slightly: Ad viewability is getting better ... sort of. Worldwide, ad viewability saw a marginal increase of 1 percentage point in Q2 2017, according to research firm comScore. The US and Canada tied for the highest viewability rate among the 10 markets examined, at 56%. Meanwhile, the UK brought up the rear, with a rate reported at just 49%.

Millennial Poverty: New data from Pew Research Center found that there were 5.3 million US millennial households in poverty last year, more than any other generation tracked by the organization. Millennials also accounted for the largest number of households that rent their homes, at 18.4 million.

Troll Controller:Internet comments have an effect on people, but maybe not in the way you'd expect. YouGov found that 44% of US social media users felt better after seeing a comment on a post, compared with just 20% who felt worse after reading a comment. In addition, 61% said reading a comment on their social media post had made their day.

UK Gets Baked: The first episode of "The Great British Bake Off" under new UK broadcast home Channel 4 set several records since airing on August 29. It now boasts the largest consolidated audience of viewers ages 16 to 34 (at 2.7 million) for any UK show in 2017 so far. It also had the largest ever catch-up audience, with 1.1 million people viewing the show within seven days on the channel's All 4 digital service.
