Amazon's India Gains: Amazon's efforts in India appear to be paying off. New data from GlobalWebIndex found that almost three-quarters of internet users in India said they'd visited Amazon's site in the past month. Nonetheless, homegrown ecommerce platform Flipkart still outperformed its US-based rival, drawing 84% of respondents.

Actions Matter: Companies seeking UK consumers beware: Your actions have consequences. In an August 2017 survey of UK internet users by Shoppercentric, 36% of respondents said they had "stopped buying a brand or using a company because they were uncomfortable with something they did," and 58% of those shoppers said they were likely to engage in similar boycotts again in the future. Nearly three-quarters of respondents said they "want the money they spend to go to companies they trust."

APAC Travel Uptick: Travelers in Asia-Pacific are whipping out their wallets. Mastercard reports that overnight visitors to the region spent a whopping $91.16 billion in travel expenditures last year. By comparison, travelers spent $74.74 billion in Europe and $55.02 billion in North America in 2016. Mastercard also found that Bangkok drew more overnight visitors than any other city last year—19.4 million.
