Killer Apps: US smartphone users are saving their home screens for their most important apps, which are not necessarily the ones they use the most, according to comScore. The research also revealed that while utilitarian apps like Google Search, Amazon and Gmail were considered more important, they were not used as much as social media and entertainment apps such as Facebook.

No Reservations: New data from YouGov reveals that purchase consideration metrics for 11 casual dining chains saw a bump among millennials this year, a sign that some companies in the segment are doing well with the demographic. YouGov reported that while some chains, such as Applebee's and Ruby Tuesday, have had to shutter some locations, chains like Twin Peaks and Taco Cabana have seen gains in purchase consideration measurements among those ages 18 to 34.

Agencies, Listen Up: Ad agencies that target the healthcare industry may need to do a better job of listening to their clients. HCB Health found that 66% of medical marketers it surveyed were positive about their agency's broad listening skills, but only 4% were "extremely satisfied" in that regard. In addition, one-third rated their agency's overall listening capability as neutral or negative.
