Underutilized Technology: Just 18% of marketers feel their organization has the right technology in place to manage their marketing efforts, research from the Content Marketing Institute (CMI) finds. Another 45% say they have technology tools, but aren't using them to their potential.

UK Travel Boost: The UK set a new quarterly record for inbound visits and spend during 2017's first three months, with 8.3 million visits, up 10% from Q1 2016, and spending up by 16% to £4.4 billion ($5.94 billion), according to VisitBritain. Included in that milestone were new quarterly highs for visitor numbers from China and Australia, up 27% and 10% respectively. US visitors expanded 16% while their spending rose 29% to a record £604 million ($815.2 million).

YouTube's Appeal: New data from L2 reveals that YouTube boasts higher watch times than Facebook. The average watch time for branded videos ranges from 43 to 71 seconds.

Home Shopping Hangs On: While home-shopping heavyweights in the US struggle, the sector continues to grow in Western Europe. According Goldmedia, home-shopping sales in the region's 10 largest markets topped €4.6 billion ($5.10 billion) in 2016 and are forecast to rise at a compound annual rate of 4.9% through 2022 to reach €6.4 billion ($ 7.08 billion). Home-shopping channels' increasingly multichannel presences will help them to achieve that growth.
