Prime Day Runup: Amazon turned on the TV spending to promote Prime Day. Kantar Media estimates Amazon spent nearly $840,000 running Prime Day-themed television commercials in the US for the week of June 29-July 5.

Quiet Time: Verto Analytics reports that while 44% of smartphones had a personal assistant app that was used at least once in May 2017, users only spent 12 minutes per month on these types of apps.

Young Riders: Some 26% of all millennials were recent Uber users according to YouGov's latest BrandIndex study. That's 8 percentage points higher than a year ago.

Look, Ma, No Cord: According to Parks Associates' research, 72% of non-pay-TV subscribers subscribe to an OTT video service, which is their primary source for content. Just less than half of broadband households in the US subscribe to Netflix, it found.

More Mobility: Over the next six years, Ericsson expects mobile broadband networks to add nearly 2.6 billion subscribers. That works out to an average of about one million each day through 2022.
