Quality Concerns: High-speed broadband may be widespread in the UK, but 83% of UK adults polled online in late July by internet and telephone service comparison site uSwitch said the quality of their service was poor. Respondents' most common complaints were slow page loading (71%), internet service disconnections (67%), buffering (63%) and crashing (54%).

Cross-Border Boom: The share of UK retail ecommerce shipments going to EU destinations reached a four-year high of 62.7% in July, according to the Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG). This year's figure was up from 55.3% in July 2016, when a large drop in the value of the pound sterling vs. the euro in the immediate aftermath of UK's vote to leave the EU boosted cross-border commerce from a historical monthly average of around 50%. IMRG attributed this year's figure to the continuing imbalance between the two currencies, plus UK retailers offering shoppers in EU countries "quality products with great delivery options at good prices."

Streaming Sharing: A study by Morning Consult looking at whether or not people share their accounts for streaming services like Netflix or Hulu found that most (63%) do not, although young people are more likely to do so.
