Device Upgrade? Data from CouponFollow looking at the key factors that influence US millennials' smartphone purchasing behavior found that many are unwilling to shell out a large amount of money on a new smartphone. Over two-thirds said they would pay $500 or less.

Cutting Back: According to a Nielsen study, 53% of UK consumers surveyed in this year's second quarter said they made deliberate efforts to cut costs during the period, the highest level since Q2 2015 and up from the 40% who said the same two months after last year's Brexit vote. Switching to cheaper grocery brands was the most common method for saving money, the study found.

Budget Goals: Nearly two-thirds (65%) of US millennial parents polled by Citi Retail Services believe that shopping in-store allows them to stick to their back-to-school budget goals, compared with online shopping.
