Growing Steadily: During its Q2 earnings, Snap reported that its daily active users grew from 143 million in Q2 2016 to 173 million in Q2 2017—an increase of 30.5 million.

China Heads Out: According to research from China Luxury Advisors and Fung Global Retail & Technology, more than two-thirds of surveyed outbound tourists from China made more than one trip over the past 12 months. On average, tourists from lower-tier cities spent more on travel than their Tier 1 counterparts.

Cash-Free Future: Two-thirds of retailers in Sweden surveyed for a soon to be published report by the country's Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) expect to stop accepting cash by 2030, according to newspaper Svenska Dagbladet (SvD).

Prime's Time: The gap between Amazon Prime and Netflix subscriptions among adult UK internet users narrowed to 6 percentage points in 2017's first half—down from 12 percentage points at the end of 2016—according to MediaTel. Amazon Prime usage rose 3 points to 25% in the most recent study period, while Netflix's share dropped 3 points to 31%.

In fact, new data from WBR Digital and Persado finds that a quarter of retail CMOs from retail brands based in the US and the UK plan to invest up to $100 million in AI this year, and more than eight in 10 plan to invest in AI and machine learning solutions in 2017.
