Terrestrial TV is the fastest-growing ad medium in Brazil, according to data from Ibope.
Spending on terrestrial TV commercials in Brazil was up 55% in H1 2015—more than four times the rate of increase in spending on any other medium. Newspapers, the second-fastest-growing ad medium, were up by 13%.
Online display advertising, the only digital ad medium measured by Ibope, was up 7% over the same period.
eMarketer estimates that total media ad spending in Brazil will be up by 10.0% this year to $20.64 billion. Digital display ad spending specifically will increase by 14.5%, or 39.6% of total digital ad spending. Mobile ad spending in Brazil will more than double this year, going up by 120.0% to $548.8 million.
