Facebook Losing Its Appeal Among Teens & Tweens

Usage among 12-17-year-olds will decline for first time; Snapchat beats rivals in key age groups

New York, NY (August 22, 2017) — In its latest forecast on US internet and mobile usage, eMarketer has reduced its usage estimates for Facebook users under 25. ¬†Yet for the same age groups, eMarketer has kept unchanged or adjusted higher its estimates for Snapchat and Instagram, suggesting younger social network users are turning away from Facebook in favor of other platforms.
