Matthew B. Crawford,

Author of "The World Beyond Your Head: On Becoming an Individual in an Age of Distraction"

Matthew B. Crawford attended Berkeley High and the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he majored in physics. Later he earned a Ph.D. in political philosophy from the University of Chicago, specializing in ancient political thought. Currently he is a senior fellow at the University of Virginia’s Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture, and also fabricates parts for custom motorcycles in Richmond, Va.

Ezra Palmer

Doug Ziewacz

Doug Ziewacz is Under Armour’s Head of North America Media & Advertising. Doug joined MapMyFitness in 2008 as a member of the early stage Managing Partner team and built and scaled the national sales function through three rounds of Venture Capital funding, achieving 1,000% growth over the first 3 years earning a spot in the Inc. 500. Since the acquisition of MapMyFitness by Under Armour in late 2013, Doug has continued to lead the sales function and overall client relationships. Prior to joining MapMyFitness he was the Director of Marketing for Everon Technology Services LLC, a leading national provider of IT support to small and medium businesses. In this role, Doug was responsible for Everon’s overall marketing strategy and direction. In his tenure, Doug helped grow Everon’s overall sales by 498% from 2004-2007. Those efforts helped garner the organization Inc. 5000 recognition and eventual acquisition by Plum Choice. His earlier career was as a member of the 7‐UP Professional Cycling Team, racing at the highest level of professional cycling in the United States. Doug holds an M.S. and B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder. His Masters work focused on using devices to quantify the physiological demands of elite professional cyclists.

Simon Isaacs

Simon Isaacs is the Co-Founder of Fatherly, a digital lifestyle guide for men entering parenthood. Prior to founding Fatherly, Simon dedicated the past 12+ years spearheading cause-related marketing efforts for nonprofits, foundations and corporations including The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Rock the Vote and The Coca-Cola Company. He has launched more than a dozen national and international campaigns and raised more than $200 million toward philanthropic causes. A former professional marathon runner, Simon was also named a Next Generation Leader by the White House as a result of his earlier philanthropic work.

Ritu Trivedi

Ritu initiated her foray into the media world in Bombay, India. Once her passion for this career was established, she moved continents to learn about the academics of advertising. Ritu attained her Masters degree in Media Administration from the Newhouse School of Public Communications. Ritu has worked for some of the top agencies in the last 17years - Ogilvy, Universal McCann Interactive, OMD, DraftFCB, Mindshare and Mediavest. And her brand responsibilities have been equally stellar IBM, American Express, Coca-Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, General Electric, AOL, Lowe's Home Improvement, Sprint, Honda to name a few. In her last job at Mediavest as an EVP, she led digital investment for the entire agency with media giants such as Microsoft, Google, Twitter, and AOL. In November, 2014, Ritu joined Microsoft and was the Head of US Brand Marketing. She led the US Trade Marketing team and activities ranging from crafting marketing strategies for Microsoft’s largest key accounts and products to driving its presence and activations at events. With the recent sale of Microsoft sales to AOL, Ritu’s new role is in Packaging Strategy. She is responsible for developing and releasing offerings based on data and insights that cover the value spectrum of cross-portfolio packages, sponsorships, and network promotions.

Ljubica Chatman, PhD

As a Researcher in Social Psychology, Ljubica takes an analytic approach to the intricate complexity of human behavior. Her research focuses on how motivations shape what we think is true, good and attractive through conversations with other people. Recent projects focus on digital evolution of the human mind, and how online interactions and digital environments shape our memories and decisions.

Kathryn Minshew

He is a veteran technologist who has spent over fifteen years building world-class digital experiences that bridge the gap between art and science. His creative, technical, and production leadership in the advertising industry has been recognized by One Show, AICP, Webby Awards, and the FWA, and he's spoken at conferences such as SXSW, ADMA, Digital Dallas, and Internet Summit. A co-founder of Flavorpill Productions, Atlantico USA, and Oakley+Partners, Husani's most recent role was Director of Creative Technology at Wieden + Kennedy, creating campaign work for Nike, ESPN, Heineken, Delta, and Target. Because he drinks entirely too much coffee, Husani is also the Executive Producer and Creative Director of Sessions In Dance, a modern dance company. He lives in Brooklyn, New York with his partner and their dog.

Christine Cook

Christine Cook has been the head of advertising at Flipboard since 2012. She works with advertising sales teams at content creators, publishers, and directly with advertisers, to leverage the marketing opportunities within Flipboard. Christine oversees global sales, ad operations, planning, and account management teams. Christine has 20 years of media advertising experience, 18 of which are in digital. Before joining Flipboard, Christine ran advertising sales at The Daily, the first daily news publication designed exclusively for tablets. Prior to The Daily, she spent five years at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia where she was Senior Vice President, digital advertising sales and ad operations, spearheading the sales effort in support of MSLO’s Internet business segment and cross platform advertising programs. She joined MSLO from IAC Partner Marketing, where she served as Vice President, Sales, managing advertising sales marketing and national advertising sales across such IAC sites CitySearch,, Expedia, and Ticketmaster. Earlier in her career, Christine served as director, luxury advertising at the Financial Times and spent five years at The New York Times Digital in various sales executive roles, including founder of’s first international sales office in London. A graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Christine lives with her husband in New York City.

Terri Walter

Terri leads marketing at Kargo and is responsible for building the brand and leading ad design innovation at the company. A seasoned 15+ year technology marketer, Terri served as CMO of programmatic technology company PubMatic before she came to Kargo. There she raised awareness of the brand, launched the business in 4 countries and contributed to over 100% growth YOY. Walter has also served as Head of Global Brand Marketing at Microsoft Advertising, Global VP of Emerging Media at Razorfish and VP of Marketing at DoubleClick. Terri has also been editor-in-chief of many industry publications including the Razorfish Digital Outlook Report, for which she won a Stevie Award in 2009, as well as DoubleClick’s “The First Decade in Online Advertising.” She has traveled extensively and has her Masters in International Marketing from Columbia University.

Rob Fishman

Rob is the co-founder of Niche, which was acquired by Twitter in 2015. Prior to Niche, Rob led social media efforts at The Huffington Post and at AOL. Martin Lange

As Global Consulting Partner Martin is helping clients navigate the challenges and opportunities that spring from the digital transformation in marketing. He is a strategic advisor on growth opportunities, innovation strategy and marketing operations. Martin is also the lead for Ogilvy’s global mobile practice. In this role he is responsible for integrating mobile marketing programs into the business programs for Ogilvy’s clients. Prior to joining OgilvyRED Martin was Executive Marketing Director for Digital Strategy. He led and oversaw digital programs for international key accounts. Jon Suarez-Davis

Jon Suarez-Davis (jsd) oversees global marketing communications and brand-building initiatives designed to elevate the Krux brand and accelerate growth across key customer segments. He also guides marketplace strategy and internal marketing capabilities for Krux. Jon joined Krux after six years at the Kellogg Company, where he was Vice President of Global Media & Digital Strategy. At the Kellogg Company, Jon was responsible for building the media and digital marketing team within the Capability & Commercialization Organization (CCO), and for providing strategic leadership for the Global Marketing organization across paid, owned and earned channels. M. Scott Havens

Scott Havens is responsible for managing the operations and driving the strategic development of digital products within the news, business, sports and entertainment verticals, including People, Time, Sports Illustrated, Fortune, Entertainment Weekly and other titles. In recent months, Time Inc. unveiled relaunched digital platforms for flagship brands Time, Sports Illustrated, Fortune and Money and announced the creation of 120 Sports, a mobile-first sports network. Previously, Havens was President of The Atlantic, overseeing all aspects of Atlantic Media’s flagship brand and playing a key role in the digital transformation of the 157 year old magazine into a profitable, global, multi-platform media company. Prior to that, he served as Executive Director, Condé Nast Business Media and a founder of In this role, his team was responsible for business development, online marketing and analytics, and digital strategy. Havens graduated from Hamilton College with a BA in Economics and received an MBA in finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business.

Hilary duPont

Social Media Strategist, Chobani

As Social Media Strategist for Chobani, America's No.1-selling Greek Yogurt brand, Hilary duPont has been influential in the brand’s meteoric rise. In her three years at the brand, she has evolved the social media content strategy and creative for Chobani’s channels. In her current role, Hilary oversees Chobani's social media content, including content strategy, creation and publishing for both always-on and campaign-based content. As a true social media enthusiast, Hilary is constantly on the pulse of what’s new and how millennials are consuming content and engaging with brands online. Prior to Chobani, Hilary studied Sociology at Duke University. Her current social platform of choice is Snapchat, and she resides in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Apu Gupta

Apu Gupta is the CEO and co-founder of Curalate, the leading marketing platform for the visual web. Curalate enables brands to measure, monitor, and grow a presence on visual social media sites such as Pinterest and Instagram. Curalate is currently in use by over 300 brands, including Neiman Marcus, Michael Kors, Gap, and Better Homes and Gardens. Curalate is backed by top-tier venture capitalists, among them New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and First Round Capital. Prior to Curalate, Gupta worked in retail and technology. Gupta built the second-largest drugstore chain in India as the COO and CMO of MedPlus Health Services. He also served on the interim management team of Peracon, a provider of software for the commercial real estate industry, and was in sales and marketing roles at WebEx Communications, from its Series A financing through its IPO. Gupta has an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.

Lauren Boyer

Over the past 20 years Lauren has led dozens of unique programs for brands of all shapes and sizes. While the majority of her work is in the health and wellness category, she has also contributed strategic marketing solutions for consumer products, retailers, energy, publishing, and entertainment brands. Robby Ayala

Robby Ayala was born In West Palm Beach, Florida. He graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2013 and he received a BA in communications. He attended law school but dropped out to pursue his career as a full-time video creator on the video service Vine - where he published several goofy six-second movies to his 2.6 million followers each day. In 2014, he got a call from Niche, a company that wanted to hire him to make a short commercial for GroupMe, a messaging application, and post it for his followers to see. Robby Ayala joined Niche full time, to work as the company's creative partnership manager, which he described as helping other Vine users polish their content and make videos for advertisers.
